Pall opens life sciences centre in B'lore

NYSE-listed $2 billion Pall Corporation has opened its life sciences centre in Bangalore to cater to the Asian life sciences market.
The company, without disclosing the investment made in the new facility, said the centre can house 60 scientists and assist the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and discovery markets in Asia with a range of total fluid management solutions. These involve liquids required in drug discovery and manufacturing.
India was strategically chosen as the location for Pall's new centre in Asia due to India's size (total fluid solution market valued at $5 billion) and reputation in life sciences spanning bio-pharmaceutical research, development and production.
The country's diverse market opportunities and a large pool of qualified scientists and engineers provide an ideal climate for fuelling innovation and growth, said Roberto Perez, President, Pall Life Sciences Worldwide.
According to Vinay Joban, General Manager, Pall Biopharmaceuticals India, the fluid solution market in India is estimated to be around $5 billion in which process management and therapy segments constitute $2 billion each and the balance is accounted for by proteomics and separation.
