Pentair launches automatic water softener

US based Pentair, a water solutions provider, today launched SOFTflo, an automatic water softener for the Gujarat market. Over 55 per cent of the ground water in Gujarat is considered to be very hard (over 500 ppm) and upto 25 per cent of the water in Gujarat is excessively hard (over 1000 ppm). Jay Water, an Ahmedabad-based water management solutions provider, will be the exclusive distribution & service partner of Pentair in Gujarat.
Unlike traditional water softeners, SOFTflo comes with a metered valve that reduces water and salt consumption up to 30 per cent. Hard water scales pipes, increases energy consumption, reduces appliance life, stains bathroom fixtures, makes clothes and dish washing ineffective, and soaps lather less easily. The company is anticipating considerable demand in the state.
Headquartered in Minnesota, USA, Pentair has a portfolio of 30 brands and employs around 12000 people worldwide. The company operates from more than 50 locations in Europe, Asia and Australia providing solutions for commercial buildings and industrial use. This includes products for pumping, filtration and enjoyment (swimming pool equipment) of water.
Pentair Water India (PWI) designs, manufacturers and distributes pumps, filtration and pool equipment targeted specifically at the Indian market. PWI has a corporate Office and design center in Delhi, and a state of the art manufacturing facility in Goa.
