Royal Sundaram net up 145%

Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Ltd's (RSAICL) net profit rose to Rs 21.18 crore as against Rs 8.63 crore registered during the 2005-06 period, recording growth of 145.42 per cent for the year ended March 31, 2007.

RSAICL's premium income rose to Rs 600.58 crore as against Rs 460.85 crore in 2005-06, recording growth of 30.32 per cent.

Of the total premium written during the 2006-07 period, personal insurance contributed Rs 391 crore representing a growth of 40 per cent, while commercial insurance contributed Rs 210 crore.

Motor insurance contributed 51 per cent of the total premium written, while fire and engineering segments contributed 22 per cent.

Accident and health segments contributed 21 per cent and around 8 per cent of total premium was contributed by rural business.
