Taco-Interiors facility opened in Bidadi

Taco-Interiors and Plastics Division (TACO-IPD), a division of the Tata AutoComp Systems, has inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Bidadi near Bangalore.

Taco-IPD offers automotive plastic interior and exterior products to its customers through its design and manufacturing capabilities.

The Bidadi facility is expected to cater to the domestic automotive segment and to meet the increased requirements of customers and major OEMs (original equiptment maker) in South India.

Taco-IPD is an OEM supplier to the tier-I and tier-II automotive markets and boasts of an customer list that includes Toyota Kirloskar Motors, Tata Motors, General Motors, Ford, Mahindra & Mahindra and Faurecia, among others.

The Bidadi facility is the fourth for the division; the other facilities being in Pune, Maharashtra.

Speaking after inauguration of the facility, Rajiv Bakshi, President, Interiors and Plastics Division, Tata AutoComp Systems, said, "The new plant is capable of handling the entire range of product requirements in interior plastics. The design and development support will come from our Engineering Centre in Pune. Our new facility in Bidadi will ensure that we are able to serve the needs of the rapidly growing domestic automotive market in South India."

The manufacturing facility of the company is spread over 28,000 square metres, and Bidadi plant will manufacture a variety of injection moulded parts and assemblies as per the requirements of customers.

The interior products offered include instrument panels, dashboards, air vents, door trims, centre consoles, floor consoles, grab handles, door pulls for passenger cars.

Among the exterior plastics components, the product line includes bumpers, body side mouldings, spoilers, grills, bumper guards, footsteps, hoods, tailgates, and spare wheel covers.
