Tops control & instrumentation biz

| The electronics division of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has maintained its track record in control & instrumentation business in the country with a market share of 65 per cent, according to studies conducted by ARC Advisory Group, USA. |
| The company, in 2006-07 booked orders to the tune of Rs 1,200 crore for its C&I systems which is a record for a single year. These contracts are for control & instrumentation systems comprising of steam generator controls, turbine generator controls, station C&I among others. from leading customers like NTPC, Mahagenco, APgenco and KPCL. These include contracts for eleven 500 Mw sets, two 490 Mw sets and ten 250 Mw sets. |
| BHEL attributes its success in control & instrumentation business to its efforts towards technological upgradation, in-house research and development activities, creation of world class facilities, cost and cycle time reduction and reliable services-after-sales. |
| The company within a short span of acquiring the technology from a US company, indigenised a number of critical electronic modules and developed advanced features, both software and hardware-driven, to make the country's power plants more user-friendly, according to a release. |
