TVS Motor Jan sales up 5%

TVS Motor Company reported five per cent growth in total sales in January 2012 to 173,514 units as against 165,152 units in the same period last year. Cumulative sales for the period between April 2011 to January 2012 grew 10 per cent to 1,843,554 units as against 1,678,048 units in the previous comparable period.

Total two-wheeler sales rose six per cent to 171,112 units from 161,725 units in January 2011. Scooters sales went up two per cent to 41,469 units (40,736 units) while motorcycles registered 65,608 units (67,721 units). Domestic two-wheeler sales grew eight per cent to 153,014 units (142,227 units).

 

Exports registered total sales of 18,610 units in January 2012 as against 21,224 units in the same month of the previous year. Two wheeler exports stood at 18,008 units (19,498 units).

Three-wheeler stood at 2,402 units(3,427 units).
