Virwani Plaza opens in Pune

Virwani Plaza, realty builder Anil Virwani's maiden retail venture in Pune, was inaugurated last week. The plaza took almost over seven years to complete.

Spread over two acre in the heart of the city at East Street, the mall has 80,000 sq ft of built-up space and a 45,000 sq ft of parking area.

"The mall is designed to have a neo-classic look, with warm colours, wrought iron finishing and a retro European design as against going with the glass finish look that shopping malls have today," said Virwani.

The mall has been designed by architects Talati and Panthaky.The mall opens with 12 stores among which are two showrooms by his wife Rati Agnihotri-one candle showroom and the other a lifestyle garments and artifacts showroom.

The mall will also feature entertainment spots in partnership with Wizcraft Events and GS Entertainment, a company held by Atul Agnihotri.

Virwanis have entered into one more partnership with Tony Singh of Mumbai's Pritam Da Dhaba fame, who will be opening a food court housing a resto-bar, sweet shop, rooftop restaurants.
