The Apex Project Clearance Committee (APCC) has approved several project proposals for boosting the growth of industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
The APCC, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Madhav Lal here yesterday, held detailed deliberations regarding status of clearances and in certain cases recommended opinion from other related departments for further clarity and action, an official spokesman said today.
He said the committee called for vigorous advertising, to rope in greater investment in the field of horticulture and establishment of chain of Controlled atmosphere Storage (CA) and Cold Storage facilities near various production centres across the state.
It also recommended site inspections and judicious handling of land to be utilised for new units at various growth centres, the spokesman said.
He said the project proposals that were taken up and discussed included Aluminium coil manufacturing unit, Portland cement manufacturing unit, various Service Sector and Horticulture units.
