Consumer Body Files For Refund From Power Utilities

City-based Consumer Education & Research Society (CERS) has petitioned the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) seeking a refund of the increase in electricity bills paid by consumers of the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) and the Ahmedabad Electricity Co (AEC) during the past five years.

CERS has also sought all the records regarding supply of inferior quality of coal from collieries and loss of vital raw material in rail transit, to prove that consumers need not have paid the tariff hike on this account.
