Electoral law amendment in 3-4 months, says Moily

A comprehensive amendment to electoral laws will be brought about in the next three to four months, Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily said on Sunday in Bangalore. The recommendation of the Constitutional Commission of 2001 to raise the ceiling on election expenses to Rs 40 lakh for a seat in the Lok Sabha and Rs 16 lakh for an Assembly seat, would be cleared.
