Organisers of MIPIM Asia, a professional property and real estate exhibition, are in India on a road show to attract real estate firms seeking to grow by accessing foreign finance.

MIPIM Asia 2006 is scheduled to be held at Hong Kong's Convention and Exhibition Centre from September 27-29.

According to Julien Sausset, commercial director, MIPIM Asia, the convention will provide networking opportunity for Indian real estate firms looking for FDI as Asia-Pacific property companies do more cross-border deals.

"The real estate market is vibrant. MIPIM Asia will be a platform to meet key players and decision makers "" from Asia and beyond," he added.

According to independent reports, compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) in property investment in the Asia Pacific region is expected to be 12.8 per cent between 2004 and 2007, with the prime investment destinations being Korea, China, Japan and India.

"We expect good participation from India with expression of interest already shown by Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and property developers like DLF, RMZ, among others," said Shyam Sundar, India Representative, MIPIM Asia.
