Foreign team meets AP CM for Rs 125cr coffee plant

| A business delegation from Denmark and the UK today called on chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR)and have shown interest in the setting up of a Rs 125 crore freeze dried coffee plant at Duggirala, in Guntur district. The freeze dried coffee plant will be the first of its kind in India and the third such in the Asia Pacific region. |
| The freeze dried coffee is a premium product targeted at niche clients. The business delegation from Denmark and the UK was led by C Rajendra Prasad, managing director of Continental Coffee Products Ltd. |
| The delegation led by Prasad pointed out that the project was intended to enable the company to generate additional employment on a contractual basis. |
| The project will be taken up in a phased manner with an initial cost of Rs 75 crore and expanded within six months. It was also proposed that the liquid coffee would be marketed in Japan. The business delegation consisted of officials from Niro A/S Denmark, and Strategic Soluble Services Ltd, United Kingdom. |
