High level committee clears Rs 16,078 cr worth of projects

The State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) has approved 23 industrial projects involving an investment of Rs 16,078 crore. These projects, once implemented, would provide jobs to 368,837 persons.

The SHLCC meeting chaired by chief minister Jagadish Shettar approved new projects from companies like Kirloskar Toyoda Textile Machinery Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up Engine and Textile Machinery Manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 3,847 crore in Kittur, Belgaum district which will provide an employment to 1,231 people. Reliance Cement Company Pvt Ltd has proposed to set up cement grinding unit at an investment of Rs 690 crore in Gowribidanur taluk.

 

Other projects approved include a proposal from Enrich Pvt Ltd to establish turnkey and EPC Solar PV project at an investment of Rs 980 crore at Aliyabad in Bijapur district. Gopalan Institute of Medical Sciences and Research has proposed to establish medical college with hospital in Attibele Hobli, Bangalore Urban district at an investment of Rs 248 crore. Zonasha Estates and Projects has proposed to establish software development centre at Devanahalli in Bangalore Rural district at an investment Rs 242.56 crore.

Showa India Pvt Ltd has proposed to establish a unit for manufacture of Shock Absorber for Automobiles with an investment of Rs 342 crore and provide employment opportunity to 948 people. The committee also approved a proposal from TB Kawashima Automotive Textile (India) Pvt Ltd to establish a unit for manufacture of high quality woven and Tricot ô Circular knitted textile fabrics for car seat including weaving, knitting, dyeing, coating and finishing process” with an investment of Rs 100 crore is coming up in Kadakola Industrial Area, Mysore District.

JSS Mahavidya Peetha is proposing to establish 3 educational institutions in Kadakola Industrial Area, Mysore District with total investment of Rs 647 crore with employment opportunity to 14,500 people.

Wadhwan Mega Infrastructure Private Limited has proposed to set up Agro Industrial Clusters and Agri Infrastructure project in many districts of the state with total investment of Rs 10,000 crore and direct employment opportunity to 2,750 crore and indirect employment to 300,000 people.

“As a result of constant follow up and review of GIM 2010 MoU signed projects, 41 projects were implemented with an investment of Rs 21,181 crore. About 267 projects are in various stages of implementation involving an investment of Rs 2.82 lakh crore,” the government said in a press release.

The Global Investors Meet held on June 7 and 8 of June 2012 has seen 751 MoUs for investment commitments to the tune of Rs 7.2 lakh crore. Out of these MoUs 10 projects with an investment of Rs 3,761 crore are already implemented.

In Thursday’s SHLCC meeting, the government cleared 16 projects for which MoUs were signed during the GIM 2012.

The government has launched an exclusive portal “e-Udyami” to monitor the progress of implementation of GIM 2012 projects. Nodal officers have been appointed in all the departments to assist the projects.
