Modi visits his constituency amid polling

Having cast his vote in Ranip area in Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today visited his Maninagar assembly segment.
"Chief Minister Narendra Modi is visiting various areas of his assembly segment to see how people are participating in this democratic process," said a senior party leader. After Modi cast his ballot in Ranip, he had a meeting with the BJP's prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani and Arun Jaitley at party headquarter in Khanpur.
Subsequently, he went to Maninagar area, where moderate turnout was recorded in the early hours of polling. Maninagar assembly segment is part of the newly created Ahmedabad (West) Lok Sabha constituency where BJP has fielded Kirit Solanki while Congress' candidate is sitting MLA Shailesh Parmar.
Apart from Maninagar, other areas included in this new seat are Ellis Bridge, Asarva, Kalupur, Jamalpur, Shahpur and Khadia, Danilimda and Amraiwadi.
