Nashik firms move civic body

A joint-delegation, led by the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers' Association (NIMA) president Vivek Gogate and the Ambad Industries and Manufacturers' Association (AIMA) president Dhananjay Bele, met the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) commissioner Vinita Singhal.
They called on the NMC Commissioner and held discussions with her on various industrial problems, in the industrial estates in the city.
They discussed an implementation of Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme (IIUS) for an all-round development of the district, octroi-concessions for large industrial plants, amendments in octroi norms and inadequate infrastructural facilities in industrial estates.
"During talks with the NMC commissioner, we emphasised on three major issues-implementation of IIUS in the industrial estates, in and around Nashik, octroi concessions to industries, and infrastructural facilities like drainage, water supply, sanitation, roads, street-lights, solid-waste treatment, for industrial estates," said Vivek Gogate, NIMA President.
"In order to achieve overall development of Nashik district, it is necessary to bring into effect Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme. The IIUS, is sponsored by the central government. Under the scheme, 75 per cent grant of the total project cost is provided to the industries by the Central government and the limit of the maximum grant to be provided under this scheme is upto Rs 50 crores."
"Engineering, automobile and electric switchgear industries, are developing rapidly in Nashik industrial estates. Research and development centres and testing laboratories, which are required or necessary for these industries, can be established under this scheme. NMC Commissioner Vinita Singhal also gave it a positive response and promised to play a vital role for implementation of this scheme," said Gogate.
"On the octroi issue, the NMC commissioner said that a special committee had been set-up to chalk out new octroi norms. The draft of the revised octroi norms, would be tabled at the General Body Meeting of NMC, for its approval. Singal also promised to invite suggestions of industrial and traders' associations, before amending octroi norms," said the NIMA president.
Further on, Gogate informed that with an aim to provide adequate infrastructural amenities to industrial estates and to sort out complaints and grievances of industrialists, the NMC Commissioner promised the joint NIMA-AIMA delegation to hold meeting with office-bearers of industrial associations on the second Tuesday of every month and that the first meeting would be held on 23rd August.
"Municipal corporations get most of the revenue from industries, and industrialisation, shares a lot with the development of the city. But, municipal corporations do not spend much on the industrial sector when compared to the revenue they get from industries. Nashik will definitely wear a beautiful look and lure large industrial investments, if developmental schemes are implemented more effectively, with a well-designed plan," opined Gogate.
The NIMA-AIMA joint-delegation, included Vivek Gogate, Dhananjay Bele, Nishikant Ahire, Satish Gadiyar, Prashant Sathe, Mangesh Patankar, Sandip Sonar, Dnyaneshwar Gopale, Suresh Mali, Santosh Mandalecha, Sandip Bhutani, Dilip Barawake, Kailas Varade and others.
