Railways carried 673 MT freight in April-Dec 2010

Indian Railways have carried 673.3 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during April-December 2010. This is an increase of 3.1 per cent over the corresponding period a year ago, when the freight carried was 652.6 million tonnes.

In the month of December 2010, the freight carried by Indian Railways was 79.8 million tonnes, which is an increase of 2.1 per cent over the corresponding period a year ago, when the freight carried was 78.2 million tonnes.
