Fed hikes rates to 4.75%; plans more hikes

| The US Federal Reserve yesterday hiked the interest rates for the 15th consecutive time. The new Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Beranke, annoucing his first hike raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 4.75%. The chief also hinted of more hikes in the near future. As a result of which the US stocks slipped yesterday. |
