| The Department of Management Studies (DMS), at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, recently organised the second session of "Rostrum 2004" with a seminar on marketing titled "Innovation in Marketing". |
| Panelists included Chintamani Rao, president, McCann Ericsson, Arun Shankar, executive director, Eicher Goodearth, Sanjeev Bikchandani, CEO, naukri.com, Rahul Kansal, brand director, Times Group and Meenakshi Ahuja, brand manager, Luxor. |
| Rostrum is aseries of seminars organised by DMS every fortnight with each session focusing on one functional area of management. |
| The previous seminar was on strategy, where the topic was "Expanding horizons beyond national boundaries". These seminars include senior-level speakers from the industry in the relevant field. |
| New course at IIM-C |
| The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta has launched its first executive management programme on the DirecWay Global Education Platform. |
| The executive programme in business management (EPBM) is a one-year course targeted at working executives; IIM-C will deliver this programme to 150 working executives across 30 cities in the country. |
| The programme contains 258 hours of programming -- 40 weeks over the DirecWay Platform for six hours a week and 18 hours (three days) on-campus training at IIM-C. |
| DirecWay Global Education is a broadband satellite-based education and training service from Hughes Escorts Communications. Using a powerful interface, the service enables a student to have highly interactive sessions with students and instructors all over the country, using video, voice and data. |
| Working professionals with a minimum of two years of working experience and 50 per cent marks in graduation will be eligible to apply for the EPBM. The last date for submission of application forms is September 30, 2004. The course details and application forms are available at www.dwge.com.
