Cardamom up 1% on higher demand

Cardamom gained Rs 6.40 to Rs 616.60 per kg in futures trade today on increased demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January rose by Rs 6.40, or 1.05%, to Rs 616.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 454 lots.
The February contract moved up by Rs 5.40, or 0.84%, to Rs 645.90 per kg, with an open interest of 182 lots.
Traders said besides increased spot market demand, restricted arrivals from the producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom futures to trade higher.
