Chana futures up as spot demand picks up

Chana prices moved up by Rs 15 to Rs 2,395 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions the back of pick-up in demand at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in June rose by Rs 15, or 0.63% to Rs 2,395 per quintal, with a trading volume of 1,08,110 lots.
The commodity for delivery in July also traded higher by Rs 14, or 0.57% to Rs 2,462 per quintal, with a business volume of 44,760 lots.
Market analysts said a firming trend at the spot markets on strong demand mainly influenced the chana prices at futures trade.
