Chana futures up as spot demand rises

In a range-bound trading, chana prices rose by Rs 12 to Rs 2,159 per quintal in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions on hopes of rise in demand during the festive season.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, chana for delivery in current-month October rose Rs 12, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 2,159 per quintal, clocked a turnover of single lot. 

Marketmen said hopes that the demand may pick up for chana in view of festive season led to a rise in chana prices at futures trade.
