Chana futures up rising spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi

In a range-bound trade, chana futures prices rose by Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,166 per quintal today, as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in the spot market.

Fall in arrivals from producing regions alsao influenced the trading sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, chana for delivery in October gained Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,166 per quintal, clocking in an open interest of just one lot.

Marketmen said positions increased by speculators due to pick up in demand in the spot market mainly pushed up chana futures prices.
