Press Trust of India New Delhi

Chilli prices fell by 1.53% to Rs 5,544 per quintal as speculators trimmed positions amid expectations of higher output.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in October moved down by Rs 86, or 1.53%, to Rs 5,544 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,065 lots.

The September contract traded lower by Rs 60, or 1.19%, to Rs 4,970 per quintal, with an open interest of 10,205 lots.
