Copper futures up on global cues

Buoyed by a better global trend, copper prices rose by 0.25% to Rs 406.15 per kg in futures trade today on increased buying by speculators.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June rose by Re 1, or 0.25%, to Rs 406.15 per kg, with a business turnover of 13,290 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in August edged up by 95 paise, or 0.23%, to Rs 411.55 per kg, with a trade volume of 898 lots.
Market analysts said apart from firming trend in copper at the London Metal Exchange, increased domestic demand mainly led to rise in copper futures prices.
Meanwhile, the copper rose by 0.6% to $9,002 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
