Growth hope pushes SBI up

The stock of State Bank of India jumped 4.36 per cent to Rs 1,894 after its chairman O P Bhatt projected a 30-35 per cent y-o-y earnings growth for the second quarter.
He also expected retail loan growth to be twice that achieved in the quarter a year ago. The stock recorded over twice its two-week average trading volume of 3.5 lakh shares. The stock hit a 52-week high/low of Rs 1,935 (June 3, 2009) and Rs 894 (March 9, 2009).
