Hind Zinc rises on high metal prices

Shares of Hindustan Zinc were up 2.64 per cent to Rs 345.5 on news that the company increased zinc prices by Rs 3,400 a tonne. The company took this step on expectation of a rise in metal demand. During the day, zinc prices rose about 7.2 per cent to $1,216 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
The stock hit a high of Rs 350 and a low of Rs 340.15 during the day. The total traded quantity more than doubled to 53,770 shares over its two-week average. The stock hit a high of Rs 763 in May 2008 and a low of Rs 215 in October 2008.
