Lacklustre Day: Markets in red, SBI, Bharti down 2%

The Sensex is now down 69 points at 14,218.

The NSE Nifty is down 13 points at 4,300.

Tata Motors has plunged 4.7% to Rs 397. ITC has shed 3.3% at Rs 182.

Maruti has dropped 2.5% to Rs 574. SBI, Grasim and Bharti Airtel have slipped nearly 2% each to Rs 1,361, Rs 1,819 and Rs 796, respectively.

TCS has dropped 1.5% to Rs 826. Satyam, Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank are down 1% each at Rs 375, Rs 155 and Rs 629, respectively.

Tata Steel has surged over 4% to Rs 656. DLF and Sterlite have rallied over 2% each to Rs 502 and Rs 636, respectively.

 

Reliance has moved up 1.3% to Rs 2,191.

The market breadth is marginally positive - out of 2,522 stocks traded so far, 1,224 have advanced, 1,210 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
