Lead futures up on spot demand

Tracking gains in the base metals in global markets and rising domestic demand, lead prices moved up by Rs 1.30 to Rs 106.65 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July moved up by Rs 1.30, or 1.23% to Rs 106.65 per kg in single lot.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May contract traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.62% to Rs 105.90 per kg, with a business turnover of nine lots.
Market analysts said besides a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange, rising spot demand pushed up the lead futures prices.
Meanwhile, lead gained two per cent to $2,355 a metric tonne at the LME.
