Lead up 0.31%

Strong demand from battery-makers supported the uptrend

Lead futures edged up by 0.31% to Rs 127.95 per kg.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the January contract traded 40 paise, or 0.31% higher at Rs 1,276.95 per kg in 3,504 lots.

The February contract also rose by similar margin to trade at Rs 128.15 per kg in 449 lots.

Marketmen said strong demand from battery-makers, a firm trend at the London Metal Exchange supported the upside in lead futures.
