Lead up marginally on spot demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Lead futures prices today traded marginally higher by 0.27% to Rs 110.30 per kg, as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March inched up by 30 paise, or 0.27%, to Rs 110.30 per kg in business turnover of 60 lots.

February lead traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.18%, to Rs 109.20 per kg in 1,755 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by speculators, driven by pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly helped lead prices to trade higher at futures trading.
