Nse Logs Its Best Derivative Volume At Rs 10.65 Crore

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) for the second successive day today recorded the highest volume of turnover in the derivatives segment since inception.
Total value of contracts traded in the segment was Rs 160.65 crore. The previous highest was Rs 128.15 crore clocked on July 12.
The S&P CNX Nifty today opened at 1105.70, touched a high of 1127.15 and closed at 1110.45 witnessing an intra-day volatility of 24 points. The S&P CNX Nifty futures recorded a turnover of Rs 103.66 crore with 4,690 contracts being traded.

The near-month futures contract (expiring on July 26, 2001) witnessed a volume of 2,963 with a value of about Rs 65.47 crore.
The S&P CNX Nifty options recorded 1387 contracts with a notional value of Rs 30.47 crore.
The most active S&P CNX Nifty options contract was the near-month, at-the-money, 1,100 call option with 226 contracts being traded with an average premium of Rs 19.
Options on individual securities recorded 1,203 contracts with a notional value of Rs 26.50 crore. Option contracts on 21 of the eligible 31 securities were traded today.
