Sensex down 56pts; ICICI Bank drops 3%

The NSE Nifty is down 18 points at 5,031.

ICICI Bank has plunged nearly 3% to Rs 857, and HDFC Bank has dropped 2.4% to Rs 1,452.

Hindalco and SBI have slipped over 2% each to Rs 189 and Rs 1,696, respectively. BHEL has shed 1.8% at Rs 1,838.

Ranbaxy and Satyam have declined 1.4% each to Rs 481 and Rs 430, respectively. ONGC is down over 1% at Rs 1,042.

Wipro, ACC and Infosys have surged around 2.5% each to Rs 442, Rs 841 and Rs 1,636, respectively.

Grasim and Hindustan Unilever have rallied 2.3% each to Rs Rs 2,660 and Rs 243, respectively.

 

Tata Steel has gained 2% at Rs 797. Maruti and DLF are up over 1% each at Rs 764 and Rs 682, respectively.

Out of 2,731 stocks traded so far, 1,422 have advanced, 1,236 have declined and 73 are unchanged.
