Sensex recovers partially, down 110pts

The NSE Nifty is down 17 points at 5,032.

ICICI Bank has plunged over 3% to Rs 855.

HDFC Bank and Hindalco have dropped 2.5% each to Rs 1,451 and Rs 189, respectively.

SBI has slipped over 2% to Rs 1,696. BHEL has shed 1.7% at Rs 1,839.

Satyam and Ranbaxy have declined over 1% each to Rs 431 and Rs 481, respectively.

HDFC, Tata Steel and Larsen & Toubro are also down 1% each at Rs 2,550, Rs 773 and Rs 2,892, respectively.

Wipro has rallied over 2% to Rs 440. Maruti has gained 1.5% at Rs 765, and ACC has added 1% to Rs 829.

 

Out of 2,556 stocks traded so far, 1,308 have declined, 1,196 have advanced and 52 are unchanged.
