Sugar recovers on good demand

Sugar prices recovered moderately at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today on fresh demand from stockists and retailers on the back of ensuing festive season.

Medium sugar (M-30) rose by Rs 5/21 per quintal to Rs 2,841/2,906 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,820/2901.

Small sugar quality (S-30) also gained by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 2,796/2,831 as compared to Rs 2,790/2,831 previously. 

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets: 

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,796/2,831 (Rs 2,790/ 2,831) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,841/2,906 (Rs 2,820/2,901)
