Sugar remains weak on sluggish demand

Sugar prices continued to slid at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued to demand against ample stock positions.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,592/2,642 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,592/2,652.   

Medium sugar (M-30) also fell by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs Rs 2,656/2,791 as against Rs 2,661/2,791 previously.

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:   

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,592/2,642 (Rs 2,592/2,652)
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,656/2,791 (Rs 2,661/2,791)
