Sugar up 0.09%

Sugar futures today rose marginally by 0.09% to Rs 32,51 per quintal.

However, higher supplies capped the gains.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the January contract traded Rs 3, or 0.09% higher at Rs 3,251 per quintal in 18,890 lots.

The October contract also traded higher by similar margin at Rs 3,292 per quintal in 23,210 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions by speculators and increased spot markets demand also limited the gains.
