Turmeric futures fall on profit booking

Turmeric futures prices fell by Rs 82, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 11,680 per quintal today, as speculators indulged in profit booking.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, turmeric for delivery in December fell by Rs 82, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 11,680 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,145 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November declined by Rs 0.42, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 13,030 per quintal, clocking in an open interest of 8,810 lots.
Market analysts said emerging profit booking by speculators led to a decline in turmeric futures prices.
Estimates of higher production on good rains and weak exports also weighed on sentiment, they said.
