TVS Motor races ahead fuelled by 19% sales growth

TVS Motor Company spurted 10.87 per cent to close at Rs 36.20 after the company registered a growth of 19.25 per cent in the sales of two-wheelers at 1,37,246 units in September 2008, as compared to the corresponding period the previous year.

During the month, the company's motorcycle sales rose 32.02 per cent y-o-y to 71,278 units, while exports surged 39.84 per cent y-o-y to 18,229 units. The counter witnessed volumes of 6,23,195 shares, as against two-week average of 2,03,557 shares. The stock hit an intra-day high of Rs 36.90.
