The Calcutta High Court on Monday granted bail to Trinamool Congress (TMC) vice-president Rajat Majumdar in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam case.
"Rajat Majumdar has been given bail on condition that he will not leave the jurisdiction of Kolkata and the Bidhannagar Police Station. He will report to the CBI once a week till the disposal of the trial," CBI lawyer Ashraf Ali told mediapersons here.
Majumdar, a former Director General of Police, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in September 2014 for his alleged involvement in the scam.
He was allegedly associated with Saradha Group, which has been accused of duping thousands of investors with crores of rupees.
