Auto shares slide
Auto stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 290.39 points or 1.74% at 16375.44 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (down 5.06%), Bosch Ltd (down 2.93%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 2.58%),Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 2.43%),Cummins India Ltd (down 2.4%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Eicher Motors Ltd (down 2.25%), Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 2.2%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.57%), Bharat Forge Ltd (down 1.05%), and Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 0.91%).
On the other hand, Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.52%), MRF Ltd (up 0.47%), and Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 0.24%) moved up.
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 16.66 or 0.04% at 37254.16.
The Nifty 50 index was down 3.75 points or 0.03% at 11031.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 61.71 points or 0.48% at 12953.64.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.06 points or 0.02% at 4315.11.
On BSE,1385 shares were trading in green, 959 were trading in red and 130 were unchanged.
