Auto stocks slide

Auto stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 204.52 points or 1.1% at 18321.88 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 2.7%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 2.15%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.79%),Exide Industries Ltd (down 1.61%),Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 1.59%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.24%), Bosch Ltd (down 1.21%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 1.17%), MRF Ltd (down 1.1%), and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 1.1%).

On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (up 1.74%), turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 180.12 or 0.43% at 41446.52.

The Nifty 50 index was down 57.15 points or 0.47% at 12225.05.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 44.05 points or 0.31% at 14028.81.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 9.42 points or 0.19% at 4839.33.

On BSE,1227 shares were trading in green, 1141 were trading in red and 178 were unchanged.
