Consumer goods shares rise

Consumer goods stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index rising 8.92 points or 0.24% at 3654.96 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Alok Industries Ltd (up 4.84%), MT Educare Ltd (up 4.34%),Sintex Industries Ltd (up 4.31%),Trident Ltd (up 3.72%),Gokaldas Exports Ltd (up 3.46%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (up 3.34%), B.L.Kashyap & Sons Ltd (up 3.3%), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd (up 3.02%), Somany Ceramics Ltd (up 2.55%), and Bata India Ltd (up 2.34%).

 

On the other hand, Dish TV India Ltd (down 5.75%), Zee Learn Ltd (down 4.7%), and Zee Media Corporation Ltd (down 4.02%) moved lower.

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 53.61 or 0.13% at 40748.56.

The Nifty 50 index was down 23 points or 0.19% at 12025.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 7.36 points or 0.05% at 13500.86.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 8.49 points or 0.18% at 4729.96.

On BSE,673 shares were trading in green, 701 were trading in red and 83 were unchanged.
