Currency In Circulation Rises Nearly 20% Over Year

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI), stated in a latest update that the reserve money went up by 16.9% over the year to Rs 25.70 lakh crore for the week ended December 21. The central bank also noted that the reserve money fell 2.2% over the week. The currency in circulation jumped 19.6% over the year to Rs 20.29 lakh crore. The Bankers' Deposits with RBI edged up by 7.6% to Rs 5155 crore.
