Energy shares fall
Energy stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Energy index falling 63.42 points or 1.44% at 4354.45 at 13:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 7.12%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 6.87%),Castrol India Ltd (down 2.98%),Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.93%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 2.04%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Alphageo (India) Ltd (down 1.37%), Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.11%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (down 0.91%), Adani Gas Ltd (down 0.87%), and Oil India Ltd (down 0.42%).
On the other hand, Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 15.32%), Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (up 14.79%), and Goa Carbon Ltd (up 10%) moved up.
At 13:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 254.02 or 0.68% at 37130.97.
The Nifty 50 index was down 77.7 points or 0.7% at 10998.2.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 43.41 points or 0.33% at 13056.46.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.97 points or 0.02% at 4329.69.
On BSE,1192 shares were trading in green, 1119 were trading in red and 165 were unchanged.
