Energy stocks spurt

Energy stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Energy index increasing 102.25 points or 2.65% at 3956.27 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Energy index, Aban Offshore Ltd (up 7.17%), Confidence Petroleum India Ltd (up 6.15%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 4.38%),Alphageo (India) Ltd (up 3.92%),Coal India Ltd (up 2.12%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Selan Explorations Technology Ltd (up 1.84%), Adani Gas Ltd (up 1.58%), Castrol India Ltd (up 1.23%), Aegis Logistics Ltd (up 0.73%), and Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd (up 0.54%).

On the other hand, Goa Carbon Ltd (down 4.7%), Panama Petrochem Ltd (down 4.3%), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 3.66%) turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 60.61 or 0.17% at 35695.56.

The Nifty 50 index was up 8.9 points or 0.09% at 10460.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 38.77 points or 0.3% at 12809.32.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 3.58 points or 0.08% at 4434.64.

On BSE,924 shares were trading in green, 683 were trading in red and 87 were unchanged.
