Financials shares slide

Financials stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Finance index falling 364 points or 7.44% at 4528.57 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, JM Financial Ltd (down 11.02%), L&T Finance Holdings Ltd (down 10.75%),Manappuram Finance Ltd (down 10.05%),Muthoot Finance Ltd (down 9.63%),Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (down 9.32%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bajaj Finance Ltd (down 9.29%), ICICI Bank Ltd (down 9.24%), IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 9.15%), Indian Bank (down 9.04%), and Federal Bank Ltd (down 9.02%).

On the other hand, Reliance Capital Ltd (up 4.9%), Reliance Home Finance Ltd (up 4.5%), and Indostar Capital Finance Ltd (up 2.16%) moved up.

 

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 1806.45 or 5.36% at 31911.17.

The Nifty 50 index was down 514.95 points or 5.22% at 9344.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 298.88 points or 2.69% at 10802.96.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 139.04 points or 3.54% at 3792.89.

On BSE,550 shares were trading in green, 1745 were trading in red and 149 were unchanged.
