FMCG stocks slide
FMCG stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 153.77 points or 1.25% at 12162.54 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Globus Spirits Ltd (down 4.65%), Heritage Foods Ltd (down 2.36%),GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (down 2.32%),EID Parry (India) Ltd (down 2.31%),Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (down 2.05%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd (down 1.95%), Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd (down 1.95%), Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd (down 1.87%), ITC Ltd (down 1.84%), and S H Kelkar & Company Ltd (down 1.68%).
On the other hand, Apex Frozen Foods Ltd (up 13.93%), Coastal Corporation Ltd (up 9%), and Nath Bio-Genes (India) Ltd (up 4.79%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 91.93 or 0.23% at 40561.81.
The Nifty 50 index was down 38.65 points or 0.32% at 11973.4.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 6.15 points or 0.05% at 13552.18.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 3.3 points or 0.07% at 4676.88.
On BSE,1080 shares were trading in green, 1253 were trading in red and 168 were unchanged.
