Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 147.91 points or 1.12% at 13335.84 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 10.45%), Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd (up 4.05%),FDC Ltd (up 3.17%),RPG Life Sciences Ltd (up 2.57%),Cipla Ltd (up 2.56%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Wockhardt Ltd (up 2.06%), DIL Ltd (up 2.01%), Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 1.98%), Laurus Labs Ltd (up 1.86%), and Abbott India Ltd (up 1.74%).

On the other hand, Shilpa Medicare Ltd (down 2.86%), Marksans Pharma Ltd (down 2.33%), and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (down 1.94%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 158.3 or 0.39% at 40089.93.

The Nifty 50 index was down 48.25 points or 0.4% at 11868.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 23.6 points or 0.17% at 13545.64.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.32 points or 0.03% at 4644.88.

On BSE,808 shares were trading in green, 631 were trading in red and 74 were unchanged.
