Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 36.75 points or 0.27% at 13493.91 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 5.48%), Medicamen Biotech Ltd (up 2.52%),IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.31%),Solara Active Pharma Sciences Ltd (up 2.21%),Hester Biosciences Ltd (up 1.92%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (up 1.73%), Fortis Healthcare Ltd (up 1.55%), Alkem Laboratories Ltd (up 1.28%), Aster DM Healthcare Ltd (up 1.22%), and Marksans Pharma Ltd (up 1.15%).

On the other hand, Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (down 2.41%), Gufic BioSciences Ltd (down 1.77%), and Hikal Ltd (down 1.46%) moved lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 158.51 or 0.38% at 41399.49.

The Nifty 50 index was down 41.65 points or 0.34% at 12214.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 29.89 points or 0.22% at 13678.64.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.31 points or 0.09% at 4769.64.

On BSE,796 shares were trading in green, 659 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
