Healthcare stocks soften

Healthcare stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index decreasing 183.35 points or 1.28% at 14107.08 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (down 5.73%), Piramal Enterprises Ltd (down 5.48%),Shalby Ltd (down 5%),Kilitch Drugs (India) Ltd (down 4.32%),Albert David Ltd (down 4.26%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Granules India Ltd (down 4.24%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 4.02%), Lincoln Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 3.62%), Vimta Labs Ltd (down 3.61%), and ERIS Lifesciences Ltd (down 3.6%).

On the other hand, Strides Pharma Science Ltd (up 6.74%), Sequent Scientific Ltd (up 4.96%), and Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 3.3%) turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 299.25 or 0.73% at 40899.41.

The Nifty 50 index was down 92.15 points or 0.76% at 12037.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 135.89 points or 0.92% at 14704.8.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 39.95 points or 0.78% at 5051.01.

On BSE,712 shares were trading in green, 1586 were trading in red and 128 were unchanged.
